The new landmarks of the cities rather than be buildings, they must be conceived as places to stay not only for visitors but for locals. Located in the border of the Estuary of the Seine, the project is created to become the new landmark of a renewed La Havre embracing the oceanic entrance of the port.
Inspired by the flow of water when sea and river merge each other in order to create a homogenous mixture: an estuary. The production of this fusion creates bubbles with different sizes and shapes where the forms of the building are originated. The generation of the organic forms turns the building into a distinctive architectural monument contrasting with the industrial side of the city.
The layout of the building is designed to be flooded by the visitors through the ramp that flows through and between the bubbles in the manner that water swirls around them. The circulation provides a journey to discover the different topics of exhibitions where in the highest point is the main attraction: the big aquarium.
