This project is the outcome of my Typography 2 assignment in which we were asked to design a typeface within the space of six weeks. Having never attempted something like this before I was quite proud of my outcome. The typeface was inspired by the themes in the documentary "Chasing Coral," with alternate characters which can emphasise the decaying of coral in their forms. This type would be very appropriate for poster headings, designed to attract attention.
Final Type Poster
One critique I have of my final design is the way the 'R' is formed. The kick extends too far from the letter and is too much on an angle. In future, I would love to revisit this face and refine it with the new knowledge of type I have acquired.
