POLITICAL COLLAGES OF CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR PRESIDENCY IN COSTA RICA. 2018.
The electoral contests were characterized by the existence of government plans that involved religion and indoctrination in the way of thinking. The candidate that the polls gave for the winner was Fabricio Alvarado (last collage image), an evangelical pastor who had nothing in political experience and offended minorities with his extremist, offensive and stereotyped hate speech. A collage was made for each candidate, who, in their government and characterization plan, contradicted each other. Finally, on April 1, 2018, Carlos Alvarado remains as the new president of Costa Rica, defending human rights, proposing important changes in the Costa Rican government structures, this being the government with the most female representation with 52% of women in charge in political charges. Likewise, Fabricio Alvarado loses, and the polls remain in doubt of all, as the result was a 64% annihilator in favor of Carlos against a 24% towards Fabricio. These three artworks are part of this series of 12 pieces, who were used a way of expressed an opinion of political perspectives during the campaigns. Revista Vacío used them to publish a serie of audio podcasts interviewing and having opinions of each candidate.
This situation definitively defined a part of the history of Costa Rican politics with unexpected results.
