A. J. Anderson - Photographic Collage (Commission)

A special commission for a 60th Birthday Present
I was recently approached by Liz Anderson with the opportunity of producing a commissioned piece of artwork for her husbands 60th birthday. Having always wanted to get involved with one off pieces, I was eager to secure the project.

With her husbands birthday fast approaching, Liz had been let down by a company who were to produce a scaled model of one of their trucks, so she turned to Google, and luckily found me (or rather my website).

After an initial meeting I discovered that Liz's husband had been running his own International Transport and Haulage company for over 30 years, A.J. Anderson, based in Dalmellington, Ayrshire.

Liz had brought along an envelope full of 30+ photographs taken of the trucks her husband's company had owned throughout the years, and expressed an interest in having these transformed into a one off collage on canvas.

Within a week I was able to provide an initial concept via email, and after discussing it with her children I was instructed to carry on with it as planned. I then provided two final options, both created from blending the various images together, one in the original colours, and the other with the company's maroon colour added as a colour wash.

The final choice was the Maroon wash, and this was printed on to a 30" x 20" canvas wrap. I'm very pleased with the result, and Liz is also delighted. Let's hope her husband is equally impressed!
