Sea & Sand
By Amber Redfield

One of my first projects for 2013 is documenting the small waves in a big way. Many always look out towards the ocean, waiting for the massive tunnels and crashing sounds, but what about the ones that slink their way up the shore? I set out to photograph their motion and relationship with the sand below, running into the water with my 7D just above it, and rushing back as they chased my camera and I.

These photos are only a small number of my full project, but 21 of my favourites thus far. The photos were taken over a series of days, during high noon and sunset on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. I will be adding more photos (not already featured here) in the future to my Flickr set "Sea & Sand", my Tumblr, prints on Society6, 500px, and perhaps "Sea & Sand II" to Behance.

Sea & Sand

"Sea & Sand" focuses on the motion and relationship between the small waves that crawl up shore and the beach beneath.
