Perception Learning and the self
The book chosen for this assessment was learning, perception and the self written by D.W. Hamlyn. Published in 1983 this book explores the human brain. It contains a number of theory's explaining why we do what we do, weather we realise it or not. Creating a confronting read for a possible fragile audience.
For the assessment we were required to re-design the graphics and typography throughout the book and have it printed through blurb.com. I decided to steer away from the bulky novel aspect and create a soft cover version that can be carried around easily and used when needed on a daily bases. As it is a book for self and learning aimed to give the book a softer design to make it more inviting. To achieve this I updated the typography, layout and used calming colours to make this a more casual and hopefully easier read for the audience.
