Every day we hear and read lots of mysoginist quotes, accepted in a patriarcal society which objectifies and sexualizes women. The use of women’s bodies seems to be fair when it is done by a man, but when a woman takes control on her own body and decides what to do with it, she is attacked and criticised.
Why do we keep allowing this to happen? Why do we keep encouraging mysoginist discourses while natural and positive actions for women keep being criminalized or censored? Why women’s bodies are sexualized? Why a man can show his nipple but a woman not?
ripple puts all of these questions to debate and tries to make this problem visible. We want to fight the taboos and prejudices related to women’s bodies and the ignorance about them, which contribute to censorship on mass media and social networks.
We propose the creation of an on-line platform, collaborative and participative, with social and real content, formed by subjective experiences and opinions from experts in every field, as well as tools for reporting censorship issues and knowing what to do in case it happens to you, and also for reporting mysoginist attitudes and opening campaigns to urge people in power.
