Hong Kong Nan Hai Li Shui Town Corporations
The invitation was sent out to members of the Hong Kong Nan Hai Li Shui Town Corporations
to celebrate the inauguration of the 4th Term of Directors for the years of 2013 - 2016.
The direction was to create a vibrant design that encompassed Chinese tradition
with a modern twist. Given the corporate colour is a vibrant red colour, I balanced it out with a
softer yellow tone which Chinese people refer to as the color of rice. Such colour reminds people of the
importance of rice as part of the Chinese culture.
The combination of colours and sharp shapes provides a modern tone.
The Koi fish symbolized the corporation’s
longevity through strength and perseverance. The placement of the Koi fish mimicked
the movement of it swimming towards the surface creating the ripples on the water surface.
The movement enhances the invitation by making it more lively. The Koi fish and the placement
of the copy added a touch of tradition into the invitation design.
