Celebrate is a bespoke display typeface in one weight, developed for the exhibition Celebrate San Diego! The History & Heritage of San Diego’s Jewish Community on view from March 2017 through May 2018 at the historic Casa de Balboa in San Diego. It’s inspired by the early songs of Beach Boys and the anatomy of Hebrew letterforms, both at the same time. With its letterforms based on perfect squares, Celebrate is yet another take on a mono-width, ultra-bold geometric font. Workable and practical for the task at hand, but fun, eccentric, a little retro, and one-of-a-kind, it hits all the right notes as no off-the-shelf typeface would.
