Andy Warhol’s Eat (1963) - Consists of a nearly 40 minute of high contrast shot of a man slowly eating, transcends the expectations of what a movie should be.

I found this movie extremely interesting as to most people, it may occur as this film is merely of a man eating and sometimes playing with his cat for 40 minutes. At first, I did think that way as well but after sometime I realised the movie had a calming effect on me. It made me think about how slowly this man was eating and was appreciating every bite of his food. This made me think about our way of life in Singapore. Here, everything is fast paced and if you slow down, you will fall behind. We usually mind our own business and rarely interact with anyone other than the people we are familiar with. Thus, I realise that this interpretation could work for a campaign from the National Integration Council. Since everyone is doing their own things, no one really considers the concept of integration. Thus, we should help Singaporeans and foreigners create an environment where they can slow down and interact with each. Through this we would be able to have a understanding of their way of life from both parties.
Bodying (2003) is a documentary about the human life and the human condition directed by Simon Pummell. The entire film has no dialogue and is set to a score composed by Jonny Greenwood (of Radiohead).

I felt that this film was very creative. It showed the many various rituals that people all around the world go through. It clearly shows that there are many different aspects to one’s life and that each of us live a different life. This makes me reflect myself as I realised that we should not be quick to judge someone as we do not what the other person is going through. Thus, in this context, I feel that my interpretation of this film would be useful for a campaign for the National Integration Council as Singaporeans and foreigners come from very different backgrounds and if we are able to find a common ground an have a basic understanding that we are all humans just trying to live a life, then i feel  there would be more allowance for integration.
