My Fitness Pal is an app used for documenting one's exercise, diet and overall health. This redesign was focused on gamifying food, fitness and exercise diaries. Users are responsible for caring for pets that live within the virtual stomach, with health and experience points affected according to the user’s activities. 

There are two prototypes, each with different intentions but similar functions. The A prototype is simpler with mostly traditional buttons and interfaces for information to be keyed in. The B prototype however, is meant to be more immersive and interactive, sometimes placing the user in the perspective of actually "eating" when keying in data about the food they've recently consumed.

As part of the process, a user profile and storyboard was drafted to get to know the user and how they would use the app.

As the setting of the app's homescreen would be the user's "stomach", the creatures designed for this environment had to be fictional water-based creatures. Below are the sample creatures featured in this prototype, with more species to be unlocked as the user levels up more.
