Learning Objectives
To teach students identity design sketching practices and orient them to the typical demands placed on a designer within the industry. To build student’s capacities for time awareness, pacing and comparative analysis.

Design Process
Phase 1: Identify two similar letter forms (10 minutes)
Phase 2: Research diverse typefaces focusing on similar or contrasting characteristics (20 minutes)
Phases 3 & 4: Explore several simple and interesting combinations of these forms (1 hour). Select and refine 2 or 3 combinations (20 minutes) 
Phase 5: Choose one final combination and refine (40 minutes)
