Abstract Art - Keyboard Backlight

The idea for this project was basically to try and copy the look and feel from the back lights of my laptops keyboard. I always thought they looked cool. At the same time I wanted to experiment with the built in Global Illumination and depth of field render features of Cinema 4D, the 3D software I use. Thus no post-render editing was made to the final render seen above.
Since I wanted to focus on the render effect I kept the 3D model it self as simple as I could:
For materials of the main body I used a reflective material with high "blurriness" to create a brushed aluminum feel. I also added a "computer screen" for reflection as well as to provide additional light via GI. Here is the final model:
I made the screen invisible to the camera as to not ruin the abstract feel I was going for. I had to make some adjustment with the "back lights " as you can see from this first test render:
I spent a lot of time trying out different camera angles and finally settled for the one bellow. I made a couple of different renders with different settings for the dept of field and GI. The image I'm most satisfied with is shown on the top of this page.
