Designed as a series of spatial encounters, Horizon is situated as the beginning of the procession from West Oakland and leads into Hypotenuse Park. The first structure explores “crease” through the concept of fold and creates pockets without light  to begin the experience. The second structure observes “oblique” through the concept of refract and funnels visitors through prism-like angles. The last encounter illustrates frame through the concept of aperture and focuses on changes in scale and abstracted outward views.
