Lexol + Eagle One

Through a collaborative project with Chase Design in Skaneateles, NY and RIT, we were challenged to create packaging concepts for two of Energizer's newly acquired car care brands: Eagle One and Lexol.
Graphic Designers: Sam Herman, Maggie Lo, and Andrew McMahon
Industrial Designers: Elizabeth Rintels and Justin Callaghan

01. Rebranding
One of the biggest issues we identified with the current packaging was that both brands were outdated and hard to recognize. Eagle One specifically was difficult to read and recognize on the shelf.
02. Eagle One Design
Because the competition is riddled with busy design and bright colors, adding more of the same, fails to stand out in this environment. With our simple label and bottle design, we were able to create a product that differentiates itself and is aligned to the user's lifestyle.

03. Lexol Design
In order to counteract the aggressively loud packaging of our competitors, we decided to simplify the graphics and update the brand image to a more classic vintage and leather feel. For our bottle design, we decided to go with a copper finish. It’s very different from our competitors, who mostly have an opaque plastic appearance. While our bottle will have a metallic appearance, it will still be made from plastic.

04. Shelf Presence
For Eagle One, our solution was the use of a unique nozzle head more dynamic than standard spray bottles, and with a clear on/off switch for easier user interaction. Our solution for Lexol’s shelf presence is to have it be sold in a combo pack. The combo pack will include a cleaner, conditioner, and a sponge for each product.
