Wedding Splash Page

objective & process

The hypothetical brief was to make a splash page for a couple "to invite their guests and announce their big day." I figured that the objective was getting people to RSVP and gather information that the wedding company, Hitched, can use to plan the wedding. So I tried to make it easy to RSVP by envisioning both RSVPs to be a link towards the form. As this was a wedding splash page, and people from different ages would be using it, I kept the website simple and straightforward.

Lastly, I took into consideration that the brief mentioned that there was a possibility of using the design for other collateral, so the above-the-fold display could easily be repurposed to be a Facebook banner, and the florals and the free fonts could easily be turned into a print invitation.

Note: It troubled me to see all the other submissions for this brief featuring white, heterosexual couples, but it was so difficult to find a good set of stock photos of couples of color, I ended up choosing to portray a lesbian couple instead. If you're another creator, I do hope you also tackle the challenge of portraying diversity, or else it's always going to stay a challenge
