DuPont Tyvek Project - Convertible wallet

The project was for DuPont for a competition held by them at NIFT, Hyderabad.
The objective was to use Tyvek and create an accessory product with great aesthetics and optimum utility.
Working: The Wallet is used with zipper or buttons to open or close after placing your belongings in it. When you fold it out like paper, you get a laptop sleeve wherein you can place your laptop and carry it around. It can also be used like a folder. The wallet doesn't disappear after you unfold into a laptop sleeve as it is placed on the sleeve like a compartment.
Process: The DuPont Tyvek paper was cut in 3 pieces with the dimensions in accordance to the laptop measurements (Mentioned dimensions are taken for Mac Book Air 13-inch).
The longer sheet was rolled down and folded for the laptop sleeve. The rest was attached at appropriate placement for the wallet section. It was then folded down.
Explorations: As an exploration, we also added zips to the wallet. As Tyvek is a printable material, we took the freedom to use explore it's graphics. A four framed Pop-art became most appealing as it complimented the folded lines. For additional strength, we also used a woven Tyvek Sheet (strips of Tyvek sheet were weaved) to make the Convertible Wallet. This also complimented the folds.
