Curatorial Statement:
TRANSITION is deeply ingrained in TMS culture; we have grown familiar with the word from the year-end TRANSITION of students across all levels. Yet its significance goes much beyond this – it is something we face every day.
Life is one big story of TRANSITION; we are always leaving one chapter behind while moving onto the next. Sometimes change is welcome; other times it is not as pleasant. How can TRANSITION be visually captured in a photograph, and how does this perception translate back to the viewer?
These student photographers were challenged to embark on an imaginative journey of TRANSITION, in which they sought to find the creative potential for a new situation during their own decisive moment – connecting one idea to the next. These impressions of the idea have come together to present a distinct and thoughtful mosaic.
