As a fan, I wanted to create a piece on Trixie Mattel to show my appreciation for her work and art. I was inspired by her drag aesthetic and musical routes which saw me wanting to create a country Barbie styled work. I have always liked old packaging and wanted to infuse an aged and printed feel into the work also.
The below image contains my first original idea that I sketched the size of about a 5c piece along with some not-so-great attempts at facial features. There is also the more finalised sketch as I started developing the layout more:
This was the final result of my work. I was happy that I achieved the aesthetic I was after and loved the colour pallet that I got to play with:
