I submitted this piece to an exhibition called 'Manchester World's Fair' at Vault NQ in Manchester, which was based on the theme of the future of the planet. I decided to make mine locally relevant, and I based my idea on an article I'd seen about how helicopters and a network of heliports were once seen as the future of public transport in Greater Manchester.
