A unique travel guide design for the third year of university.
The CityMate logo was formed through research and combination of city imagery, colours, symbols and the idea of help and guidance. The final choice shown is a helping hand combined with a cityscape and a cathedral tower, to uphold the heart and feel of a city along with the purpose of the product.
CityMate is a fresh, clean and modern travel guide that holds ease of use at its core. The cover takes a fresh approach in representing the location and instead of using typical photographic imagery instead uses graphic illustrations that demonstrate the feel of the city represented. The guide is compiled of separate pages that are attached to a lanyard and can be worn around the user's neck to create an easy to use and access publication; this abolishes the nuisance of searching to the bottom of bags and pockets on busy streets looking for a guide that opens up wider than the path the user is stood on. CityMate's pages can be removed if the user only needs a particular piece of information with them or only wishes to attach certain parts of the guide; it is customisable to the user's needs.
