This all started one day while pondering the overused "thinking outside the box". The majority of people think creativity is inspired best with no constraints. I believe this couldn't be further from the truth and the idea puts so called "creative" people in a box or labeled. Without having some constraints (the box) the choices and possibilities are overwhelming. Any creative person will automatically begin to categorize and direct the idea or thought in a direction. Once the direction is decided the rest is a framework to reinforce or bring clarity to the initial idea. My intent is to complete a series of "people in a box" paintings 12" square over a yet to be determined timeframe.
