Cleveland International Film Festival

Every spring since 1977, the Cleveland International Film Festival has brought films from all across the globe to Cleveland. Each of these annual events has had its own theme which sets the tone and is carried out throughout the entire festival. We were tasked with creating new, hypothetical themes for the festival which would fit into what they stand for as an organization.

This theme emphasizes one of the core ideals of the film festival: bringing cultures together to celebrate them. To stick with this idea, I wanted to make sure that this theme was full of bright colors, symbolizing the colorful diversity of the festival. I took iconic landmarks from some of the countries represented at the festival. Wrapped around each landmark is a film strip with “Cleveland International Film Festival” written on it, translated into the language predominantly associated with the country.
