1UP Nintendo Exhibit

1UP: Nintendo Museum || ARTS 370 ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHIC PROJECT

The 1UP Nintendo exhibit offers a historical review of Nintendo as a company, highlighting their successes, origin, and influence in the industry. The exhibit contains artifacts such as original gaming consoles, character design models, controllers, and other Nintendo memorabilia. The environmental graphics are meant to be immersive without being distracting. Their style is in keeping with the rudimentary 16-bit art from the original Nintendo game franchises.
Sketches

Rough sketches of initial concepts and ideas, for indoor graphics as well as logos.
Narrative Literature

The narrative literature for this exhibit is an 8-page booklet shaped and sized like the original GameBoy game cartridges. Guests can walk through the exhibit, following along as they go.
Indoor Graphics

Indoor graphic #1 is a hallway in the exhibit, which displays a rendition of the scrolling-backdrop from the original Super Mario Bros. video game. This hallway is meant to be immersive and fun, creating a stylish segue-way from one part of the exhibit to another.

Indoor graphic #2 is around a corner, and on the column there are a few illustrations of the original gaming controllers, marked by their year of release. Adjacent to this, there is a large schematic print of the Super Nintendo controller. It has been outlined and deconstructed to show the various parts of the controller.

The entire exhibit is very large, open, and bright. The graphic elements have been designed to accentuate and compliment this style.
Outdoor Graphic

The outdoor graphic is a directional piece, leading guests to the Nintendo exhibit. The stairs are dotted with the iconic brick-blocks that are found in nearly every Mario game to-date. To the left, the exhibit logo is placed above the notable "?" brick, which is known for carrying surprises and exciting things!
