Immersive Gaming:Merging Embodied Interaction & Haptics

The Extractor is an Embodied First Person Shooter Experience developed for the course of game architecture. We wanted to explore new interaction techniques by merging both custom and gesture control input devices.

2 Gloves augmented with 10 bend sensors were developed and are use to select guns and perform firing action, based on pre-determined gestures.

Microsoft kinect tracks the movement of the left hand (aim)

A custom made directional mat with 4 pressure sensors to control the character in the virtual world was also created.
