For my chosen book/movie/tv show I decided to do the YA book Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, with my main subject featuring one of the main characters: Kaz Brekker, and the other subject featuring the motif of crows. I chose Kaz because he is probably the most talked about character in the duology, and he represents some of the main themes of the story: strife, loss, perseverance. He is very recognizable to the audience of these stories and also embodies the story as a whole. The crows I chose in my second poster because they're a symbolic representation of Kaz, and have a very relevant quote in the books that explains the complexity of Kaz's personality; it's also the title so many people will relate the crows to this novel. I simplified all of my objects through silhouetting their outlines, and, in the case of the crows, the only true appearance of the crows is due to the shadows and the omitting of the grunge onto the plumage of the birds. I used grunge texture on the backgrounds of the posters, and instead of using the Hitchcock font (which didn't appear pleasing due to the theme/essence of the story), I used the typeface Hand Book by BLKBK for the title and BEBAS NEUE by Dharma Type for the credits.
