Seven : neveS

Performance. Presented as part of a practice-based research course in plural dramaturgies at Université Laval. Student, responsible for the video conception, creation and live manipulation. 2018.

Performance created and presented as part of a practice-based course on plural dramaturgies at Université Laval.
Following a theoretical introduction to the notion of plural dramaturgy and fundamental concepts, the students were divided into working groups. Each group was responsible for a layer of the performance (video, actions, sound, spatial device). I was part of the group responsible for the video layer. We designed a video system that mixed the feed of live cameras and pre-recorded material, worked and transmitted through a video mixer on 7 monitors placed in the 7 modules that made up the scenic device.

AREA (Autour du Rose Enfer des Animaux)

Participative installation. Practice-based research lead by professor Robert Faguy at Université Laval. Research assistant, responsible for the video conception and creation. 2017-2018.

The practice-based research project investigated the creative process for the composition of plural dramaturgies and aimed at the development of a notation and scenic production software optimized for this type of creation. The scenic creation side was inspired by the dramatic text Le rose enfer des Animaux by Claude Gauvreau and set up as an installative and performative device in which the audience was the only human component.
I was part of the second and third phases of creation. In the second phase we tried a new non-linear approach for the conception and composition: instead of starting from fragments of the text and staging them, we started from inspirations of the text to compose several complete micro scenes. For example, we designed and produced a 5 minute composition that included: video mapping and projection, movements of an electronic device installed on the scenographic table and monitors. We put them all together and make adjustments afterwards. In the third phase we looked at the adjustments, refinements, and the resonances between those elements. This moment also allowed us to create new elements and new sequences, motivated by the emergence of ideas, senses and directions from the adjustments.

Soigner le Passé : un regard sur nos collections

Exhibition on conservation and restoration presented by DESS students in museology and Professor Jean-François Gauvin (Université Laval). Research assistant, responsible for the video conception, creation and integration for the virtual restauration of a sculpture. 2019.

I was invited to make a virtual restoration for a sculpture, based on the research work of museology students, with video mapping.

Peut être... La fécondation des astres

Immersive theatrical experience. Presented as part of a practice-based research course in immersion at Université Laval.
Student, responsible for the video conception, creation and integration and part of the collective dramaturgy. 2019.

As part of the immersion seminar we studied basic theoretical notions and concepts and we used them in a practical way through the conception and production of a scenic creation lasting 15 minutes. The basis for the creation were conceptual sketches produced by each member of the group and the choice of an initial immersive device: a triangle constructed by three translucent screens of 20 x 7 feet. I was responsible for the conception, creation and integration of the videos projected in these three screens and for a sequence of interactivity between video and performers / spectators (the bird scène), made using the software Isadora.

Each section shows the images presented on the three screens at the same moment.
