120 years of automotive history is harbored within the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center opening their doors to a spaciously organized exhibit. Celebrating several deserved icons of the industry within the area, my attention was captured within the timeless craftsmanship applied to each individual car despite a lack of knowledge in car history. Mercedes-Benz desired Art Deco inspired posters featuring these iconic vehicles and showcasing the reasons why one would be motivated to purchase such luxurious transportation.

After approaching me to portray Art Deco style in poster design at Chapman University, I was aware of the parameters to deliver their intended final solution and knew the Classic Center would be a great source of inspiration. When initially beginning the tour through the various collection rooms, I instantly gravitated towards styles presenting first glimpses at accentuated structure, slickness, and acceleration. Even without an overpowering red hue on the exterior, several vehicles in neutral colors still managed to create intrigue with these additional factors. Through much consideration among the automobiles, the Mercedes Benz 300 SL in Dark Gray possessing sporty exterior features and cozy interior patterns inevitably inspired my concept celebrating an endless night on the road outside the demands of society.
