This is the artwork for a work of serialized fiction.  The first image is the introductory artwork for the story for it's pre-release. The series is released in episodes and so the story and it's characters, as well as the atmosphere present themselves over time.  
 
 What was my process for creating the art for this project?

My favorite way to create cover art for creative works of fiction is to listen to or, in some cases, read the story first.  Without being privy to the impressions or visions of the writer, I listen to and/or read the story on my own- often several, several times and then dive right into my artistic process in creating the imagery to accompany the works of fiction.  This has always been a successful method for me.  I am always pleasantly surprised by the outcome and the author is always happy.  I have yet to leave an author feeling like they 'knew' I was going to do that.  I like to include subtleties in my art.  If someone hasn't read or listened to a story yet, they find it aesthetically pleasing to the eye and after they've listened to or read the story and see the artwork again, it's like there is an 'A ha!' - so many people have told me about this happening for them- authors included, and it always makes me happy.
 
For this project, I did the artwork before it was recorded.  I read the story several times and listened to some Autechre, Squarepusher and some Gescom, as well as some of my other favorite artists on my Autechre Radio station on Last.fm and got busy with my graphic design.
