I worked with Tröegs Independent Brewing illustrating a poster for their Nugget Nectar release party in Boston - First Squeeze. Thinking about what Nugget Nectar means to me, I definitely wanted to create something magical - whimsical - Willy Wonka esque. I riffed off the "nectar" component - imagining a bunch of hardworking, creative bees swarming about a magical hop hive. Visiting the brewery and interviewing patrons and employees alike, they all had the same consensus that this beer, Nugget Nectar, was like a good friend returning home after a year away. I wanted to convey that with the "ahhh" look on our skeleton friend. I wanted to ensure that I incorporated enough "adventure & curiosity" - given that's the tagline of Tröegs.
