For the 2012 Holiday season, Best Buy sought to make gift-giving a much more personalized experience. The PayPal Media Network UX team proposed the idea of a "quiz," in which the user could choose their gift-giving style and see a specific product that they could purchase at Best Buy to give to a loved one. Each week during the holiday season, featured products would rotate out, showing the myriad options of great gifts available at Best Buy stores.
This was a very successful campaign, with a 7% banner to landing page CTR, and 16% secondary engagement. I designed the banner, landing pages, and also wrote all copy.
Users would then be driven to the BestBuy.com mobile site, where they had the option of purchasing the item or see if it was available in their local store.
