Appearing at the late-2017 ACE Comic Con in Long Island, British actor Henry Cavill, who portrays Superman on the big screen, took part in a private question-and-answer session that brought together fans who found Superman sketches within a Justice League-related #SearchForHope Treasure Hunt. Cavill described the Superman universe as one that is rich in super villains, such as Lex Luthor and General Zod, who have real depth and personality.

One challenging question asked by a fan had to do with how Clark Kent would come back, given that Superman had sacrificed his life to defeat super villain Doomsday. Even with Superman being resurrected, it would seem impossible to resurrect Kent as a normal worker in a newsroom. Superman had been given an open-casket funeral, and his secret identity was now blown wide open. Without a ready answer on hand, Cavill noted that the saving grace of superhero movies is that fundamentally there is “suspension of disbelief” involved on the viewer’s part.
