Simba Games - Brand Identity & Website redesign

The Story of Creating
the New SimbaGames Brand.

So one day i get an email message with this subject:

We are taking ownership on this site!

In it was a single URL link, no other explanations.
No surprise there. That’s the way I got most of the emails from my boss.
The link led into a HORRIBLE website, that looked like it was designed from before the internet was invented.
My eyes hurt.

The name of the site was SimbaGames.dk.
Yes… yes, you guessed it right.
The site had a mascot character of a small lion (did someone say Disney's lion king?).
In 3D. Very bad and poorly done 3D.

I had to work with the original site and materials.
It took a year, before I was able to convince everyone a new redesign was really overdue.

A local danish company was hired to do all the market research and suggest a new direction. Another poorly executed project (in my humble opinion).
It took them 6 months to deliver the materials.
They weren’t good enough.

No more!
I put my foot down, and went to work.
Within a few months the brand and site were up.
A few months later the inner gaming platform was redesigned and optimized also.

The restrictions i had to work with:
   -  I had to keep the purple/light brown color scheme.
   -  I had to keep the use of the new “real life” doll of Simba somehow in the brand.
   -  We had to go “live” within 3 weeks.

The fruits of my hard work are presented below.
Hope you like :)
