Sudanese Restaurant Branding

This brief challenged me to design the branding for a new and original Sudanese restaurant. I have looked into the culture and lifestyle of Sudan and it's people, and used this to reflect the choices I have made for my work, e.g. colour and layout choices. Common colours seen in Sudanese fashion, foods and art were oranges, reds, blues, and browns. These are the colours that have made up my project, with the pattern alternating from orange to brown, the main logo in orange and the text in blue. The pattern was inspired by African tribal scarification, with the rough line markings, alternating in direction. I used the lino-printing technique to create this pattern, as it would give this rough, imperfect look on the lines. The font I have used for my logo is Lombok, which also reminded me of the scarification, but looks cleaner, and generally has an African feel to it.
