Frame building Class at Metal Guru

I built my first bike frame while taking fabrication lessons from Metal Guru. Shown here is the process of turning steel tubing into a bike frame. Tubes were cut to length and mitered using milling machines. Then tubes were bent to provide clearences and apply to gemoetry specification to fit my body. After everything was mitered the tubeswere held in a jig to get ready to tack weld. The frame was tacked then tig welded. Small details such as cable guides were brazed on to the frame.

When the frame was completed it was off to sandblasting and finishing using automotive paint. The color scheme and graphics were inspired by the great David Bowie. After a few coats of pearl goldmine and pearl black cherry, the frame was clear coated and built up with components. This bike is now my personal trail shredder perfectly tailored to fit me and my riding style.
