This was an internship I earned at Saint Xavier University. Our entire web design class submitted proposal designs and mine was chosen to represent the conference. The original idea we were provided with was learning and technology. From this my idea of the "booktop" sprung into my mind. If you look in the upper right hand there is a small graphic which is part textbook and part labtop. This was the visual I created to show the relations of learning and technology in college.
The color scheme I chose was mostly because of our school colors which are red, white, and black. This helped show the connection to SXU even though it was a site of its own. The header features the department in which was hosting the conference. Lastly the gradients give the website a more dimensional look rather than a flat web page.
