The way we perceive ourselves is often dictated by society and media, limiting our standpoints. I consider self-portraiture an opportunity that allows artists to escape these limits, to examine themselves from an alternative point of view, changing their self-perception. I think that every piece we create shapes us as people, so the process of creating is almost equally double-sided. 

In this piece, I wanted to illustrate the connective stream between the real world and the environments we produce. The bottom figure looks more realistic, while the one on top is more graphic and outlined. The plexiglass sheet separates their realities, although the hands of the figures easily escape this border. The bottom one paints the self-portrait, noticing that the painting starts making its own equal impact on the artist.
