I chose the topic of photographing instruments because music is such a big part of my life and I've always loved the beauty of each individual instrument. My creative process consisted of shooting the instruments in different lighting and angles in order to capture their true beauty.
I like the reflection of the piano keys in the lid because it adds to the photo's interest. I dislike the slight blurriness of the music, but I also think it places emphasis on the instrument itself. I could improve on working with my depth of field when shooting.
I like the vibrant colors of the abalone inlay because they reflect many different colors. I dislike the blurriness of the strings because it creates a bit of distraction. I could improve on working with my depth of field when shooting.
I like the sheen on the front of the instrument and the reflection of the lights within it. I dislike the slight blurriness on the sides of the instrument because like the saxophone, it takes away from the instrument's full appearance. I could improve on working with my depth of field when shooting.
I really like the clarity of the frets and strings on the banjo because it makes it pop. I don't dislike anything about this photo because I like its composition and how its isolated by the dark around it. I could improve on working with my depth of field when shooting.
I like the shininess of the flute because it resembles the elegance of the instrument and how it shines when its played. I dislike how quickly the photo is gradually blurred, I wish more of the flute was in focus to make it stand out. I could improve on working with my depth of field when shooting.
