To accompany a vintage magician poster exhibition, the McCord Museum had a "design a Houdini poster" contest. In putting together our submission was a conscious effort to find a balance that referenced the older vintage posters while giving it a more modern look and feel. The poster features a collage of all of Houdini’s major stunts: locked up with chains, dipped into a water cage, tied upside down in a straight jacket and buried underground. The final image also celebrates the often overly dramatic taglines and language used to advertise the events.
