Dear Future Me, was a family workshop for children to create their own time capsules inspired by the recent V&A Dundee opening and schools competition running at the same time. Families were encouraged what they'd write to their future selves and create a container to store until a later date.
The project presented some unique challenges for me, the transition between having access to a laser cutter that can produce any shape to having to shift to press cutting that its unable to cut the same thickness and precision, but at higher speed and higher quantity.
These were some of the earlier prototypes of the project using the laser cutter to cut Polypropylene. The first design had a slide connection while the final design had a slot and tag system with a lighter weight material; Priplak, usually you'll find semi transparent folders and binders made of this material.
