Selected for Cannes Film Festival 2016, Paterson is a bus driver in the city of Paterson, New Jersey – they share the name. A poet and a Bus driver, Paterson adheres to a simple routine every single day.
This challenge was to promote an unusual yet artistic, poetic film which also has you falling in love with the town that is Paterson, New Jersey. So I wanted to create a series of animations that reflected the film in its simplicity and tone, marking all the stops and spots Paterson visits throughout his day, including using the font Adam Driver had created for this film. These sequences of animations were used within a Facebook Carousel for the Thunderbird Releasing page.
In addition to the carousel I was asked to create a series of gifs and cinemagraphs that defines the story. Places Paterson drives through, visits and sees on his daily routine.
