A menu could be considered the lifeblood of a restaurant's existence from both a practicality and design standpoint. Not only is a restaurant judged by its menu, but its story is told through the menu. Not only in the food, drinks, and price range of the place, but in the voice of the graphic design and layout. Who is this restaurant? What do they stand for?
This is a menu redesign and revamp for Joe’s Italian Restaurant in Conroe, TX for an advanced typography course.
I have taken their existing menu (seen photographed below) and turned it into three separate prints: an entrée menu, a drinks and dessert menu, and a table card highlighting pizza and lunch specials while focusing on the addition of negative space and toning down the color scheme in order to make it a little easier and less intimidating to read over while also maintaining the warm, family-friendly, romantic Italian restaurant air.
