An Interactive Learning Experience

Geng UPSR is Malaysia’s first ever interactive UPSR revision drama series. The 10-episode comedy show features a group of friends going through the ups and downs as they prepare for their UPSR exam. As the show was a hit with students, we decided to strengthen its position as an edutainment brand by creating a complementary platform - the Geng UPSR mobile app!

The Geng UPSR app was built to provide a mobile gamifying revision experience to familiarise students and parents with the new exam format as well as change their perceptions on studying for an exam.

In this app, we turn students into Superheroes with one ultimate mission: TO CONQUER UPSR!

Made up of 3 islands, Superhero Geng UPSR, Gempak Geng UPSR and Geng UPSR 2, each section was released in stages beginning April 2015, to encourage early and continuous revision throughout the year.

We started off by launching Superhero Geng UPSR in April 2015.

On this island, students answer quizzes that are based on the current syllabus to complete weekly missions.

Every correct answer gets them points! They get bonus points when they work together with other students in Group Challenges and when revising with graphical notes.

To keep parents in the loop, we send them weekly EDM reports of their kid’s progress.

Microsite - Superhero Geng UPSR phase

During Geng UPSR 2, students can sync their Geng UPSR app with the series to revise various topics and to answer quizzes in real time. This provides an innovative and unique interactive learning experience. Parents can join in the fun and help out their kids too!

To make things more interesting, we have inserted a live scoreboard on TV so that students can benchmark their scores against others!
