This was a world first: a display font based on national flags. I created this together with designer Luis Fabra when we set up the GSK unit @ Grey Singapore in 2014. And we used it for many things: office design, collateral materials, manifesto videos, T-Shirts. Get the whole story in the following case video.
2014. Global ECD GSK at Grey Singapore.
The case video for our multinational typeface. Just about 2 minutes long. Sorry about the poor VO...
This ad used the T9 text recognition function. It was directed at digital natives who understood. I had this idea and ended up spending a lot of time working it out - In German and English. It won some people and awards.
2006. With Jung von Matt as Executive Creative Director.
An amazing project we designed and programmed inhouse entirely. This is the agency Christmas gift for all stakeholders and clients. They received an eMail with tokens and a passcode to the virtual Christmas market. Each little stand featured another fun game - and key staff of the agency. It was quite irreverent and did not take itself too seriously. Many little games triggered yet more eMails and rewards such as Widgets. This case proved the digital abilities of the agency. And it won direct and digital awards.
2006. With Jung von Matt as Executive Creative Director.
Two ads for Memac Ogilvy. The first is a recruitment ad in a design I still like a lot. The second is an ad we ran after becoming Agency of the Year at the regional Effies. I wrote it. Don't read it if you hate agencies bragging about their wins...
2009. With Memac Ogilvy Dubai as Executive Creative Director.
When recession hit the Middle East we did a whole host of things: talks about marketing in a recession, a book about the topic, and we also made these new business cards. A great designer in my team made them look nice. All employees of the agency used them as fun little ice-breaker in many client meetings. Juries liked them too.
2009. With Memac Ogilvy Dubai as Regional Executive Creative Director.
The JWT Group in Germany had a long history in brand activation and shopper marketing. Only: nobody knew this. They regarded JWT as a rather dull ad agency. As the whole market was shifting towards a much more sales oriented marketing we needed to do something. This is the case video. It runs a little over two minutes. Believe me: they are worth it. The case scored well at direct awards.
2012. With JWT Group Germany as Chief Creative Officer.
In case you skipped the video: this is the board to the case. Burn, baby, burn…
Another problem I faced when running JWT in Germany was the fact that nobody knew about the digital offering. So we turned the Christmas cards into a nice little design case that casually shows off digital expertise. It even got shortlisted in Cannes and won some direct awards. The video runs 90 seconds.
2011. With JWT Group Germany as Chief Creative Officer.
The board to the case.
This is the biggest and most complex self promotional case I have done so far. The video (2:44) explains well how we created content in Cannes, used it as branded content and made a DVD with an 80 minute documentary film. Not only did it shift the perception of the agency, it is also highly awarded at many festivals.
2011. With JWT Group Germany as Chief Creative Officer, reporter, actor and guy in orange shirt...
The board to the case. The case-video makes more sense...
This last piece is a actually a B2B case: together with an event agency we rented a VIP lounge in a football stadium. Obvioulsy to invite clients, prospects and partners. But we made it unique so it fit to the special character of the club: very rough, very blue collar, very anti establishment. Hence our guests entered a workshop and had to print banners. The copy for the banners was crowdsourced.
2012 - 2013 as CCO of JWT Germany in Hamburg.
