MY WORK AS COPYWRITER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR #2

This folder includes a successful pitch which won us new business. It also includes some of the work which followed for the new client. Although it's not ground-breaking creative, I'm nonetheless proud of this work. I designed all the grids myself, both for the pitch and for subsequent campaigns.
The pitch for this business was based on the above concept / pay-off line. Client wanted to target up-and-coming black entrepreneurs. The concept "THE POWER TO MOVE AFRICA" represents the idea that POWERSTAR has the ability to move Africa in a literal sense, i.e. to transport Africa (both African people and African soil). At the same time, this has a visceral connotation; POWERSTAR can also "inspire" and "motivate" Africa.
The adverts which follow - retail and corporate - were presented during the successful pitch. Client had asked thirteen (13!) other agencies to pitch before our own attempt. Client was so impressed with our pitch she awarded us the business on the spot and immediately proceeded to brief us on our very first campaign.
THE FOLLOWING ADS COMPRISED THE VERY FIRST CAMPAIGN WE DID FOR POWERSTAR, BASED ON THE MATERIAL PRESENTED DURING THE PITCH. (CLIENT HAD NO IMAGES FOR THE FITTED BODIES, HENCE THE LINE DRAWINGS.)
The above adverts were the first series of ads we did for the new client.
THESE WERE ADDITIONAL ADVERTS WE DID FOR DIFFERENT POWERSTAR CAMPAIGNS. IF THERE'S SOMETHING I SERIOUSLY ENJOY IT'S DEVISING NEW RETAIL GRIDS - AS IN THE TWO EXAMPLES BELOW.
The client wanted to try a different look and feel for this specific campaign. I devised the above grid.
