Abstracts by Leopoldo Marin
The collection of abstract works I created has greatly been inspired from my photographic works. Each has been transformed through various methods in order to create unique abstracts reflecting the current feeling and emotions that I felt at the moment of their creations, of which, lines, colors, and forms are explored. Just as some of the masters of painting during the modern art period felt a necessity to explore new ways of looking at their subjects, due to the emergence of new technologies, which included the wide adoption of cameras and specifically the development of photography- I have also felt compelled to adapt my photographic works and through various methods and experimentation created new digital abstract works. As Flantiŝek Kupka put it: "The creative ability of an artist is manifested only if he succeeds in transforming natural phenomena into another reality." As you take a moment and see each of my abstract works- you will notice that very little, if anything, of the natural image is detectable or even recognizable, and as such I feel closer to understanding what Edvard Munch meant when he said: "Nature is not only all that is visible to the eye...it also includes the inner pictures of the soul."
