Psychic TV - Live in Kyiv

Psychic TV (sometimes spelled Psychick TV), or PTV, is an English experimental video art and music group, formed by performance artist Genesis P-Orridge and video director Peter Christopherson after the break-up of Throbbing Gristle. Psychic TV is signed to Some Bizzare Label working along with Alex Fergusson, musician and producer from Alternative TV.

Having noticed the name of the album and the customer’s wishes I’ve grasped that the vinyl cover must contain some ukrainian or Kyiv’s motives. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to decide what should it be - our fields, churches, monuments or any other illustrations of our country and made a choice that seems so obvious for me - a monumental statue Mother Motherland in Kyiv. Cross is a symbol of the group and I thought: why not to put in instead of a sword in a statue’s right hand. It’s done and looks so cool, for a moment seems that the group brings it’s religion and music to society, spreading it all over the city (because the statue can be seen from the most places in Kyiv). Mother Motherland is considered a symbol of Kyiv despite of its frightening appearance. I chose an old photo to make the cover looks more alive, added grunge font which perfectly goes with the photo. I made a song list in the form of a circle on the back of cover for every who takes the vinyl - they twist it should in their hands or turn their head and reminds a game.
