Website – Pacific Rim Magazine
PRM is a print magazine that is written, designed and published by Publishing students at Langara College. My roles in the 2017 redesign of the magazine’s website (langaraprm.com) were Web Designer and Quality Assurance Specialist.
As a Web Designer, I worked closely with a small Web Design team of three people to produce the graphic mockups for the site templates for the website including the home page, single story page, about page, contributors page, category landing pages, and year archives. My main contribution was the single story page. Our goal was achieved by creating designs that stressed modularity, consistency, re-use, concision, and ease of production.
As part of the Quality Assurance team, I helped to thoroughly test the designs produced by the WordPress team with current browsers and major mobile devices (through testing on simulators and actual devices). We used a bug tracking system to track issues and assign tasks to be completed by various departments.
