Apparition (New Media Installation)

Apparition is a kinetic new media installation designed to exploit the fictitious and deceptive nature of video as a medium. The piece was produced as my final major project while at the University for the Creative Arts.
The kinetic art installation uses 30 servos, each of which moves to it’s own ‘random’ function, set in Arduino. This means it is extremely unlikely that the movement would repeat the same pattern .

The surfaces movement is used to distort a digital projection. (see video)
