Life is Death on Vacation

This poster is currently the most complicated print I've made so far. It has one layer of silk-screen printing (magenta) and three layers of letterpress printing, black, blue and a blind emboss. The phrase "Life is Death on Vacation" is quoting Tom Waits from his appearance on NPR's Fresh Air on 2011. This poster is also available in Spanish saying "La Muerte no está Muerta."
There is a blind emboss present in all negative space of the poster. This pattern was letter-pressed with no ink, acting as a subtle surprise when you inspect the poster closely. The black pattern and skull have a lovely deep impression that comes from 8-passes on the Vandercook machine. The blue type was made with wooden movable type from the Globe Posters collection now owned by MICA. These posters are available for purchase.
